The House
Both Amasa Campbell and John Finch hired renowned Spokane architect Kirtland K. Cutter to design their new homes near each other in Brownes Addition. Finch, the conservative financier, chose a Neoclassical Revival home. Campbell, the bold mining venturer, chose a more picturesque English Tudor Revival dwelling. Cutter provided the Campbells with a handsome exterior of stucco, sandstone, brick and heavy timbers. The large main house, an offset service wing, and adjacent carriage house were carefully designed to suit their particular functions.
